Amritsar:- Amritsar police have busted two big gangs involved in cross-border smuggling of drugs and weapons and arrested 10 accused. During this intelligence operation, the police have recovered 5.438 kg heroin, three modern pistols (Glock, Zigana and .32 bore), 34 live cartridges and drug money worth Rs 4,500.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that these accused were connected with Pakistani smugglers through social media and used to order consignments from across the border in the dark of night with the help of drones. This smuggling being done through drones has become a big challenge for the security agencies as through this, smugglers used to easily dodge barbed wire and police patrols and deliver drugs and weapons to the designated destinations.
