Ludhiana 05 September 2025- TEDx is a grassroots initiative, built on the spirit of discovery and exploration, which is the overall mission of TED: “Ideas worth spreading”. TEDx events are organized to bring together speakers from diverse backgrounds to share knowledge and initiate meaningful conversations.
Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana has created history by organizing TEDxGADVASU, the first TEDx event to be hosted by any veterinary university in India. By hosting it, the university has joined a global movement that promotes dialogue, innovation and visionary thinking.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Dr. Jatinder Pal Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, who said, “We are a purpose-driven university and are committed to knowledge, research and innovation.” Dr. Gill said that the university is one of the top veterinary universities in India as it goes beyond academics by shaping the lives of students through activities that encourage leadership and creativity. The campus acts as a fertile ground where diverse subjects and cultures come together, reflecting the essence of good education.
With initiatives like the Veterinary and Livestock Innovation and Incubation Foundation (VLIIF) and the Technology Business Incubator, the university is playing a significant role in inspiring startups and entrepreneurs, which is in perfect alignment with the TEDx objective of promoting innovation and change.
Dr Ram Saran Sethi, and the event organizer, said that the event, organized in collaboration with MENTORx, brought together 16 renowned speakers from diverse walks of life. He highlighted the participation of two students of the university, Anushka Attri and Srishti Sharma, as speakers.
Sharing the stage with eminent professionals, entrepreneurs, artists and changemakers, they showcased the confidence and leadership of the young generation of the university.
Dr Sethi appreciated the dedicated efforts of Dr Munish Jindal, Founder Hoverrobotics, Founding President - MENTORx, Dr Nancy Juneja, Founder - RevUp, Co-Founder and MENTORx, and Dr Payal Garg MENTORx.
He thanked them for their insightful planning and contribution in organizing the event successfully. The event was attended by officers, teachers, students and invited dignitaries, who participated in the interaction in a dignified manner.
