On the eve of the festival of Diwali, the Department of Computer Science and Applications at the Modern Group of Colleges organized a Rangoli competition.

Mukerian:- On the eve of Diwali festival on 30th October 2024, Department of Computer Science and Applications at Modern Group of Colleges organized a Rangoli Competition. Under the leadership of Dr. Kamal Kishore and Mr. Parminder Singh, the event sought to combine the beauty of cultural traditions with the inspiration of the youth; Emphasized the importance of embracing and respecting heritage.

The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students from various courses including BCA, Artificial Intelligence, and CSE. Students showcased their creativity through intricate designs; Blending tradition with innovation. The competition jury, comprising Prof. Ravinder Singh, Prof. Nikita Thakur, and Prof. Tanveer Singh, carefully evaluated the work of each participant. Miss Preeti from Artificial Intelligence 5th semester student program got first place, second and third place went to Miss Ranjana Miss Surpreet Kaur of BCA 1st semester.
College Principal Dr. Jatinder Kumar, Head of Department Mechanical Engineering Dr. Ranjit Singh, Associate Dean Professor Sukhjinder Singh told the students about the importance of Diwali festival and said that Diwali is the festival of lights; The triumph of light over darkness; Symbolizes the victory of knowledge over ignorance and good over evil. It is a time for reflection, gratitude, and sharing joy
Coordinator of the event Dr. Kamal Kishore appealed to the students to observe pollution free Diwali by following the traditions. Mr. Parminder Singh advised the students to be aware of consuming adulterated sweets.
Appreciating this initiative, Managing Director Dr Arshdeep Singh encouraged the students to celebrate Diwali in a traditional, eco-friendly manner. Rangoli competition is a colorful reminder of rich cultural heritage and values; which embodies Diwali; Which inspires everyone to celebrate with respect for both tradition and environment.
