*Hansi Police is keeping the youth away from drugs through sports*

Under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Amit Yashvardhan, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravindra Sangwan (HPS), Arjun Awardee is actively working to make this campaign a success. Sports stadiums and grounds of 27 villages have been identified, where Special Police Officers (SPOs) have been appointed as sports trainers.

• Addressing the youth, he said that drug addiction not only ruins the future but also destroys social respect. He appealed to all the youth to stay away from drug addiction and inspire others to avoid it.

• Cyber ??awareness: The youth were informed about the increasing cases of cyber crime and were made aware to stay alert. Along with this, it was also said to give information about cyber security to the elders and other people of the village.

• Swachhata Abhiyan: The Superintendent of Police suggested cleaning the stadium or sports complex once a week so that the message of cleanliness also spreads in the society. Under this campaign, the drug de-addiction team of Hansi Police is going from village to village and making the villagers aware of the ill effects of drug addiction. Police officers, beat in-charges, and awareness teams are personally explaining to the people that drug addiction can destroy not only the individual but the entire family and society.

Change is visible in people: Meaningful results of this public awareness campaign have started coming out.
People in rural areas are now openly raising their voice against drug abuse. In many villages, local youth and women groups have taken a pledge to have a drug-free Gram Panchayat. At some places, people themselves have come forward and cooperated by informing the police about the drug trade.

Superintendent of Police Amit Yashvardhan said:
“This effort of Hansi Police will not be limited to the campaign only, but it will take the form of a continuous mass movement. Only when the society itself becomes aware, a decisive fight against drug abuse is possible.”
