Hoshiarpur:- MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa today visited Dussehra Ground Hoshiarpur and held a meeting with the office bearers of Shri Ramlila Committee.
He said that due to heavy rains in the past few days, the water level in Bhangi Chow had increased, whereas every year a grand Dussehra fair is organized at this place.
Due to this, some questions related to security were raised by the Water Resources Department. A meeting was also held on this subject yesterday with the officials of the concerned departments including Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, in which it was decided that a technical committee will be formed.
This committee will prepare a report on the security of the fair and the devotees after assessing the situation. On the basis of that report, final arrangements will be made for the operation of the fair.
Today, MLA Zimpa reached the spot and inspected the condition of the fair venue and said that the place seems completely safe. He assured that the Shri Ramlila Committee will take all necessary safety measures in coordination with the Water Resources Department.
He said that wherever precautionary measures are necessary, they will be implemented immediately so that the devotees can attend the Dussehra fair without any worries. The MLA appreciated the efforts of the committee and the administration and said that with the cooperation of everyone, the Dussehra fair will be organized successfully this year too.
Mayor Surinder Kumar, Shri Ramlila Committee President Gopi Chand Kapoor, Chairman Shiv Sood, Dr. Bindusar Shukla, Pradeep Handa, Rakesh Suri, Advocate RP Dhir and other members were also present on the occasion.
