Chandigarh:- BJP Punjab will strongly oppose any attempt to ban the facilities being provided to the poor by the Central Government through the Punjab Police.
No matter how many tactics the Bhagwant Mann government adopts, the BJP will ensure that the benefits of the Central Government's public welfare schemes reach the people, said Hardev Singh Ubha.
Strongly condemning the detention of the leadership including BJP's State Vice President Dr. Subhash Sharma, Kamaldeep Singh Saini, Sanjeev Khanna, who were going to set up a camp of Modi government's public welfare schemes near Kheda Mandir in Mullanpur Bazaar of New Chandigarh, BJP's State Press Secretary Hardev Singh Ubha said that arresting the leaders at Mullanpur Shingariwala Chandigarh roundabout by the police of the dictatorial government is murder of democracy.
He said that this step by Bhagwant Mann is like kicking the stomach of the poor and it has been taken at the behest of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. Ubha further said that the Punjab government's stopping of BJP camps being organised to spread the benefits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's welfare schemes to the people has brought back memories of the days of Emergency.
Ubha said that it is the BJP's responsibility to ensure that the benefits of schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi and Jal Jeevan Mission reach every Punjabi. Stopping these schemes by the Punjab government is actually a betrayal of the poor, farmers and youth.
He said that no matter how many tactics the Bhagwant Mann government adopts, the BJP will ensure that the benefits of the central government's welfare schemes reach the people. Ubha further said that the Bhagwant Mann government has started to follow Manish Sisodia's words and the impact of Manish Sisodia's policy of 'Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed' has started. The Punjab government has resorted to coercion, bullying, fighting and hooliganism.
Hardev Ubha said that the Punjab government is arresting BJP workers to suppress the voice of the people, which is beyond the limits of democracy. If this repression continues, the BJP will hold large-scale protests in Punjab.
Ubha made it clear that the people-friendly schemes of the Modi government will be delivered to the people of Punjab and will not be afraid of any threat or arrest.
