SAS Nagar, August 2 - Various roads in Mohali have become very bad. Due to lack of drainage of rainwater on many roads, rainwater remains stagnant for several days. Dirty water has been standing at the local Phase 8B chowk on Airport Road for several days, due to which passers-by and vehicle drivers have to face a lot of trouble.
In this regard, residents complain that the situation is continuously deteriorating due to the failure of the Municipal Corporation to improve the condition of Mohali's roads. They allege that despite repeated complaints to the Municipal Corporation, no action is taken and it seems as if there is no such thing as a Municipal Corporation in Mohali.
In this regard, social worker NS Kalsi says that while the condition of the roads in Mohali is poor, rainwater is also becoming a problem in many areas. He said that the Municipal Corporation spends lakhs and crores of rupees every year in the name of working for the drainage of rainwater, but in most areas, the drainage of rainwater is not done properly, due to which the quality of the work done by the Municipal Corporation is known.
Residents say that the tires of vehicles passing through the dirty water standing on the roads spray dirty water far away, which falls on pedestrians or two-wheelers. Sometimes, two-wheeler drivers slip and fall in the mud caused by dirty water and get injured.
Mohali residents have demanded that the condition of roads in Mohali be improved and rainwater drainage be ensured from every area.
