Mohali Police Arrests Suspect with 5 Kg of Poppy Husk and Rs. 1 Lakh Drug Money

SAS Nagar, June 28: Mohali Police arrested an individual with 5 kg of poppy husk and Rs. 1 lakh in drug money. Providing details, DSP City 2 Shri Harsimran Singh Bal said that the individual was apprehended during the ongoing campaign “War Against Drugs” under the leadership of SSP Shri Harmandeep Singh Hans.

Providing details, DSP City 2 Shri Harsimran Singh Bal said that the individual was apprehended during the ongoing campaign “War Against Drugs” under the leadership of SSP Shri Harmandeep Singh Hans.
He stated that the suspect was caught by a police team led by Inspector Amandeep Singh, SHO of Sohana police station, and Sub-Inspector Talwinder Singh during a patrol to check anti-social elements at a checkpoint near the lights of Sector 78-79. The suspect was traveling in a black Skoda car and tried to turn back upon seeing the police, but the vehicle was stopped and checked. 
Upon questioning, the driver identified himself as Gurpreet Singh, resident of Puala, Thana Badali Ala Singh, District Fatehgarh Sahib. A search of the vehicle revealed 5 kg of poppy husk in a bag in the trunk and Rs. 1 lakh in drug money from the dashboard. A case has been registered against the suspect Gurpreet Singh under Sections 15, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act.
