Hoshiarpur- Two girls from Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary Model School, Shimla Pahari, Hoshiarpur, Shweta and Sakshi Bahl, have brought glory to the district by winning bronze medal at national level while representing Punjab’s basketball team.
This historic achievement was achieved during the recently held Khelo India Youth Games in Patna, Bihar. This is the first time that Hoshiarpur district has achieved such honor in basketball.
The players attributed their excellent performance to the hard work and rigorous training of District Sports Department coach Amandeep Kaur.
On this occasion, school president Anurag Sood, Prof. from Future Ready Institute Najam Riaz, Principal Shobha Rani Kavar and Chetna congratulated the players and wished them well for their future. As a mark of this achievement, the Punjab Government will give an incentive of Rs. 50,000 to both the players.
