Disaster management training program started in HRTC Una division, 190 drivers and conductors will be trained.

Una, May 14 - Disaster awareness and training program for drivers and conductors of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Una division was launched on Wednesday at HRTC workshop Rampur. This training program will be organized till May 28, in which about 15 employees will be trained every day in a total of 13 batches. Under this initiative, a total of 190 HRTC employees will be taught necessary information and practical skills related to disaster management

This training program will be organized till May 28, in which about 15 employees will be trained every day in a total of 13 batches. Under this initiative, a total of 190 HRTC employees will be taught necessary information and practical skills related to disaster management.
Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority and Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal said that the main objective of this program is to ensure active participation of HRTC employees in emergency situations. Apart from this, strengthening emergency preparedness at the ground level and giving information about guidelines related to fuel storage and management is also an important part of this training.
He said that during the training, the participants will be specially trained on topics like staff mobilization, CPR techniques, basic life saving skills, first aid and trauma care, safe evacuation procedures, search and rescue techniques, role of first responder in disaster or emergency. He said that this training program is a strong capacity building initiative under disaster risk reduction, which aims to make the employees working in the transport sector more sensitive and efficient towards disaster management.
