Mahilpur- Ruchika of Maili, a famous village of Mahilpur block of Garhshankar tehsil of Hoshiarpur district has been selected in the Military Police Corps. It is noteworthy that five girls from Punjab and 100 from all over India have been selected for CMP. Ruchika is a BSc Part One student of Khalsa College Mahilpur and is a B certificate holder cadet of NCC.
With her hard work and dedication, she has passed the physical, written and medical tests with merit. While felicitating Ruchika for this achievement, Nikkiya Karumbalan editor Baljinder Mann said that it is a matter of pride for the entire district and Punjab that a brave young woman from a hilly village of Kandi has brought laurels to the village and the region by achieving a great achievement.
Sur-Sangam Educational Trust secretary Pt. Manjit Kaur said that Ruchika has achieved great success in this field by taking inspiration from her grandfather Santokh Singh and grandmother Gurmeet Kaur. Father Avtar Singh and mother Kusum Lata said that the student started practicing at 4 am and is performing well by participating in the national level NCC camp.
On this occasion, Ruchika motivated her friends and said that success can be achieved in every field with hard work and dedication. Therefore, every student should play an active role in some field or the other. Representatives of literary, educational, social, cultural, sports and military organizations were among those who congratulated Ruchika and her family. Harmanpreet Kaur, Harveer Mann, Jasmine, Palak, Amandeep Kaur, Munish Kumari and family members were present at the prize distribution ceremony.
