Ghanaur, September 4 - Former MP Professor Prem Singh Chandumajra has said that the AAP government did not learn any lessons from the floods in 2023, as a result of which Punjab has suffered huge losses due to floods.
During his visit to villages Sarala, Kamalpur and Lachhru Khurd in Ghanaur, Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, who reached the flood-affected villages near village Lachhru Khurd, Gurdwara Bhagat Dhanna Ji near the Ghaggar River to help the people, said that in 2023 too, Ghanaur constituency had to face heavy floods.
Despite this, the current government did not make any preparations in advance nor did it learn any lessons from the past. The current government seems to have completely failed in fighting these situations.
He said that no advance arrangements have been made for rescue in the places where huge breaches had occurred last time. Due to a 100 feet wide breach in the Narwana branch canal near village Sarala, the water of the Ghaggar river has entered the Narwana canal, along with which the sides of the Ghanaur-Ambala road are also being eroded.
The water of the Ghaggar is causing a lot of damage from the bridge near Gurdwara Bhagat Dhanna Ji. He said that even after the floods in the past, the negligence shown by the representatives and administrative officials has been seen today in Kami Khurd, Chamaru, Sarala.
A lot of damage has been caused by the flood water. On this occasion, Jagjit Singh Kohli, SGPC member Jasmer Singh Lachhru, Shiromani Akali Dal's Ghanaur in-charge Bhupinder Singh Sheikhupur, Lal Singh Mardpur, Kuldeep Singh Dhanda, Barinder Singh Bittu President, Gurdeep Kami, Jang Singh Rurka, Pinder Singh Mehdud, Binder Antal, Amrik Singh Locham, Bahadur Singh, Dhanna Singh Harpal etc. were present.
