A letter has been issued by Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi in this regard.
The letter states that to ensure financial discipline and maximum utilization of resources, it is necessary that such surplus and non-essential goods are declared unusable in a timely manner and disposed of. For this, the required indent should be sent to the Director General, Supplies and Disposal as per the policies and instructions of the government. It is necessary to obtain approval from the competent authority before declaring the goods unusable and starting the process of its disposal.
Complete details of surplus and non-essential goods pending for disposal and disposal shall be furnished to the Directorate, Supplies and Disposal, Haryana in the prescribed format. The details should clearly indicate the type of goods, year of purchase, quantity, principal of purchase, current status and other information.
An initial action report should be submitted within 30 days of the issue of the letter in this regard and a progress report should be sent every three months thereafter. These instructions should be brought to the notice of all concerned officers and employees and compliance should be ensured with immediate effect.
It has come to the notice of the Government that a large number of surplus and non-essential goods are lying in various departments, boards and corporations. Keeping such goods for a long time not only prevents the storage space but also increases the risk of spoilage of the goods.
