Bhagwant Singh Mann to hoist national flag in Patiala on Republic Day

Patiala, January 24- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will hoist the national flag during the program to be held at Polo Ground, Patiala on January 26 on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day of the country. This information was shared by Patiala Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav after reviewing the full dress rehearsal of the program with SSP Dr. Nanak Singh here today.

He said that after hoisting the national flag, the Chief Minister will inspect the parade and give his message to the people of Punjab and will also take the salute of the grand march past. ADGP SPS Parmar and Patiala Range DIG Mandeep Singh Sidhu were also present on the occasion of the full dress rehearsal. The Deputy Commissioner said that after the march past, 10 tableaux depicting development works by various departments will be taken out and cultural programs will be presented by school children.
He informed that students of Government Victoria Girls Senior Secondary School, Government Girls Senior Secondary School New Power House Colony, Government Multipurpose Girls Senior Secondary School Model Town, Government Model Senior Secondary School Civil Lines, Government High School Anardana Chowk and Government Senior Secondary School Tripadi will participate in this cultural programme.
Students of Mukt Public School Rajpura will also give cultural presentations and students of government schools will show their skills in Gatka game. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will honour freedom fighters and their families and will also honour the families of brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the country, namely, martyr Sepoy Bhupinder Singh, martyr Gunner Amrik Singh, martyr Naik Rajwinder Singh, martyr Havildar Mukhtiar Singh and martyr Naik Harjinder Singh.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest will distribute electronic tricycles and sewing machines to the needy. Chief Guest Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann will also honour personalities who have done commendable work in various fields. The national anthem will be played at the end of the function. During this, SSP Dr. Nanak Singh said that strong security arrangements have been made for the Republic Day celebrations.
