Hoshiarpur- On the call of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha, 11 organizations of SKM Hoshiarpur staged a dharna in large numbers at DC office Hoshiarpur. The protest was attended by Rajinder Singh Azad and Shingara Singh Makimpur from Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan; Jagtar Singh Bhinder and Bhupinder Bhunga from Kirti Kisan Union; Davinder Singh Kakkan and Swarn Singh Mukerian from Jamhoori Kisan Sabha; Darshan Singh Mattoo and Asha Nand from Total Hind Kisan Sabha; Charanjit Singh Bhinder from Punjab Kisan Union; Roshan Khan, Baljit Singh from Majha Kisan Sangharsh Samiti; Pavitra Dhugga and Satpal Dadiana from Bharat Kisan Union Qadian; Satpal Mirzapur and Parminder Singh Samra from Doaba Kisan Samiti; Balwinder Singh Sodhi and Sukhdev Singh Kahri from Kisan Committee Doaba; Kuldeep Singh Begowal from Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti, Gurmesh Singh from Kul Hind Khet Mazdoor Union; Subhash Mattoo from Janwadi Istri Sabha, Dr. Tejpal from Jamhoori Adhikar Sabha and others led the protest.
Speakers in the protest supported the ongoing agitation at Shambhu and Khanodi border and said that by accepting all the demands made to the central government in December 2021; Jagjit Singh Dalewal's fast unto death should be ended. If any untoward incident happens, then the entire responsibility will be of the central and Punjab government.
The speakers demanded a law to guarantee the purchase of crops at MSP. The National Agricultural Marketing Policy should be withdrawn immediately, the Electricity Amendment Bill 2020 should be withdrawn. The slips written on the farmers should be canceled, the killers of the farmers of Lakhimpur Kheri should be punished and other demands should be considered in detail.
