Garhshankar, September 7 - Democratic Teachers Front Punjab State President Vikramdev Singh, General Secretary Mahendra Kaurwali, Finance Secretary Ashwini Awasthi, Joint Secretary Mukesh Kumar, District President Sukhdev Dancewal condemned the orders of the District Election Officers of Punjab to collect and submit data to all BLOs in one or two days and demanded that more time be given for this work.
They said that when terrible floods have occurred in many areas of Punjab, as per the instructions of the Election Commission, orders are being issued to the Deputy Commissioners cum District Election Officers across Punjab to collect important information under the Special Intensive Revision and submit it by September 8.
This information is to be collected through BLOs by matching the 2003 voter lists with the 2025 lists. The Election Commission of India has scheduled a conference on September 10 regarding this work. Therefore, pressure is being put on the District Electoral Officers (BLOs) to provide the required information before September 8.
But it is a difficult task to provide this information in such a short time. Therefore, DTF leaders Manjit Singh Dasuha, Indersukhdeep Singh, Baljit Singh demanded that in view of the flood situation, the work of reconciliation of electoral lists should have been postponed for some time or at least a week should be given.
