According to the order issued by the Education Minister, all government, private, aided schools, colleges and universities in the state will open as usual from Monday, September 8. If any school or college is affected by the flood, the decision to close it will be taken by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district.
The Education Minister said that all government schools in the state will remain closed for students on September 8, while teachers will be present in the school and will ensure cleanliness. The help of panchayats, municipal councils and corporations will be taken for this work.
He said that if any problem or defect is found in the building of any government school, then it should be immediately informed to the Deputy Commissioner and Engineering Department of the district. While all government schools in the state will open as usual from Tuesday, September 9.
He told the management of private schools that they will ensure that the school building and classrooms are completely safe. It is worth mentioning that the Punjab government had declared holidays in all schools, colleges and universities in the state due to floods, but now, seeing the situation improving, the Deputy Commissioners have been given the authority to take decisions at their own level.
