Police have also confirmed the blast. Officials say the blast was carried out through an IED. Police believe that the blast was deliberate and well-planned. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
According to police officials, terrorists who were scared of Operation Sarbqaf launched by security forces last month are responsible for it. At least three terrorists and a policeman were killed in two separate incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Police have confirmed that the blast was not a random incident but part of a well-planned conspiracy. Initial investigations have revealed that the IED was already hidden in the ground, which was activated during the game. The sudden blast spread panic in the ground and people started running towards safety.
The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where the condition of several people is said to be critical. Security forces have cordoned off the spot and investigation agencies are trying to reach the attackers.
