Hoshiarpur:- World Democracy Day was celebrated by the Department of Political Science at Sant Baba Dalip Singh Memorial Khalsa College Dumeli, an educational institution running under the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.
On this occasion, Madam Manisha, Head of the Department of Political Science, informed the students that World Democracy Day is celebrated every year on 15 September, which was started by the United Nations in 2007.
The main purpose of celebrating this day is to create awareness among the students about the importance of democracy and its principles. College Principal Dr. Gurnam Singh Rasoolpur Ji, while addressing the students, said that the main purpose of celebrating World Democracy Day is to make the students aware of their rights and duties.
