District Magistrate Issues Prohibitory Orders in wake of Air Show to ensure safe flying environment

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 15: In wake of an Air Show scheduled on 26.09.2025 at Air Force Station, Chandigarh, District Magistrate, Komal Mittal has issued prohibitory orders to ensure a safe flying environment in SAS Nagar district.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 15: In wake of an Air Show scheduled on 26.09.2025 at Air Force Station, Chandigarh, District Magistrate, Komal Mittal has issued prohibitory orders to ensure a safe flying environment in SAS Nagar district.
The orders issued in exercising of the powers conferred under section 163 of The Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023) Chapter XI (C-Urgent cases of nuisance or apprehended danger) stated that Feeding of pigeons or any other birds within the airport premises and its surrounding areas up to ten kilometers radius is strictly prohibited. Similarly, Public Awareness Drives shall be launched to educate the local populace to refrain from feeding pigeons in areas around the Air Force Station. Enforcement Teams shall close down unauthorized meat shops operating in the vicinity of the Airfield.
Local residents, shopkeepers, vendors, and organizations are ordered to refrain from practices that attract pigeons and other birds near the airport.
Municipal Authorities/Local Bodies shall ensure immediate and strict action for proper collection and disposal of garbage in accordance with the SWM Rules-2016 and the ethos of Swachh Bharat Mission.
She said that any violation of this order shall invite action under the relevant provisions of law.
This order shall not be applicable on Law enforcement agencies including Police, Para-Military, Air Force, S.P.G. personnel and persons authorized by competent Govt. authority etc. and  shall remain in force till 27.09.2025.
