Hoshiarpur- Punjab School Education, Higher Education, Technical Education and Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains will hoist the national flag on the occasion of 76th Republic Day to be celebrated on January 26 at the local police line. Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today reached the police line ground and took stock of the ongoing rehearsals, preparations and arrangements.
In view of the district level Republic Day, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal urged the officers of various departments in the police line to ensure smooth arrangements for this event in time. Taking detailed information about the current status of the works related to the departments, he said that Republic Day should be celebrated with full enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
He also reviewed the parade while encouraging the school students rehearsing. The Deputy Commissioner said that there will be a full dress rehearsal on January 24. He said that during the ceremony, apart from 10 tableaux depicting the achievements of various departments, patriotic songs will be presented by school students. He said that freedom fighters and their family members will also be felicitated during the function.
He said that motor tricycles and sewing machines will be given to the needy family members. Apart from Additional Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba, officers from various departments were present on the occasion.
