Patiala, July 10- In compliance with the orders of Health Minister Punjab Dr. Balbir Singh, Civil Surgeon and District Education Officer Secondary Patiala, Government Senior Secondary Smart School Civil Line School under the leadership of Principal Mrs. Seema Uppal, Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, Retired, Training Supervisor, Red Cross Society and Upkar Singh, President, Gyan Jyoti Education Society were called to provide information to the students about the prevention and treatment of diseases like cholera, diarrhea, vomiting, lack of water, salt, glucose in the body, cholera, black jaundice.

Principal Mrs. Seema Uppal said that as per the instructions of the government, efforts are being made on a war footing for the health safety, dignity, prosperity and progress of children. Kaka Ram Verma and Upkar Singh told that dirty water, dirty juice, kulfi, market ice, cold drinks, pre-cut fruits, vegetables, dirty water causes cholera and lack of water, salt, glucose in the body.
Boiled water, clean fresh fruits, vegetables, hot food, pulses are more beneficial. But things bought from markets, vendors etc. and drinks in cans, bottles, packets are harmful. Giving boiled water, extra sweetened sknzvi, ORS, glucose, hot fresh food is very beneficial to cure those victims at home. Giving cold drinks, fruit or market juices is harmful. He gave information about the causes and prevention of dengue, malaria and rabies.
Any animal bite, lick or saliva coming out of their mouth can turn into rabies after some time, so it is very important to get proper first aid and treatment in hospitals on time. Students were told about cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation of hands, feet, nails, teeth, room, utensils, bathroom, dishes, bags, bed and surroundings. They were encouraged to do yoga, exercise, walks, sports daily.
Vice Principal Shri Ram Lal Gupta thanked the students and teachers and said through them that diseases can be prevented and precious lives can be saved by providing information about better health, fitness, health and helping victims in emergency, first aid, CPR, care of injured etc. The students thanked him and said that they will also give this information to their parents and elders in their family, neighbourhood, colonies and offices and factories.
