Balachore - Senior Vice President of Kandi Sangharsh Committee Punjab, Maha Singh Rowdy, through a press statement, asked the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, when the Kandi Canal will be operational and when the waste land of Kandi will get irrigation facility. He also said that since 1978 Kandhi Canal is being built, which is still incomplete till date.
The Kandhi Sangharsh Committee has been struggling since 2006 to make the canal operational, given demand letters, protested, protested, hunger strikes and many people have become dear to God while struggling for the water facility of the Kandhi Canal. But alas Parnala remained there. Like the previous governments, this government also showed the people only vegetables. 4 months ago announced in a massive gathering at Chandpur Roorkee and assured the struggle committee in the meeting in front of Balachore MLA Santosh Kataria that within 6 months the water from the Kandi canal will come to your fields. But alas nothing has been found till date except the flames. People of Kandhi region are still yearning for canal water. Expressing grief, he said that even after independence for 75 years, the people of Kandhi have to buy green fodder for their animals at Rs. 400 per quintal, and even today people have to buy grain for their own food. Maha Singh Rowdy warned the government and said that the people of Kandhi will not wait much longer. If this demand is not met soon, the Kandhi Sangharsh Committee will be forced to stage a permanent dharna at Balachore.
