The official said that an encounter took place between security forces and Maoists in the Dauna forest under Mahuadand police station area on Sunday night. Palamu DIG Y.S. Ramesh told this news agency, "Manish Yadav was killed in an encounter with security forces. A reward of Rs 5 lakh was announced on him. Another Maoist Kundan Kherwar was arrested.
A reward of Rs 10 lakh was announced on Kundan's head. However, Ramesh said that the reward on Kundan has not been confirmed yet. Two days ago, two Naxalites, including top Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP) leader Pappu Lohara, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Latehar district of Jharkhand. A reward of Rs 10 lakh was announced on Pappu.
