On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh issued instructions to all the members of the District Health Society and said that anemia in school children causes lack of blood in the body, which has a very adverse effect on their physical health and development. It is necessary to ensure continuous efforts at every level to deal with this problem.
He asked the officials of the Health Department to provide iron and folic acid tablets to school children to deal with anemia under weekly iron folic acid supplement. The Deputy Commissioner also said that their parents should also be motivated to inculcate the habit of eating nutritious food in school children so that the students remain healthy.
He said that no stone should be left unturned to further improve health services in the district. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that work should be done with dedication and honesty to provide quality healthcare facilities to the people.
While chairing the meeting, he said that patients visiting health institutions should not face any kind of problem and people should be given maximum benefits of health schemes. He directed all the officers to ensure that the target given by the Punjab Government is achieved.
On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinderjit Singh assured the Deputy Commissioner that every effort would be made to provide better healthcare facilities to the common people.
