NEW DELHI: Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Tuesday moved the Delhi High Court seeking protection of her personality rights and restraining certain persons from unauthorised use of her name, pictures and AI-generated pornographic content.
Justice Tejas Karia orally indicated that he would issue an interim order warning the defence. Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, appearing for Rai, said the actress wants to enforce her publicity and personality rights and argued that fake private pictures of her are circulating on the internet.
Sethi argued for Rai, “There is no right to use my pictures, my likeness or my personality. A person is making money by simply putting my name and face on them.” “Their name and their appearance are being used to fulfil someone’s sexual desires.”
This is very unfortunate.’’ Roy was also represented by advocates Praveen Anand and Dhruv Anand. The High Court has fixed the next hearing of the matter before the Joint Registrar on November 7 and in court on January 15, 2026.
