It is a unique ‘earn while you learn’ model that combines practical technical training with higher education. The program teaches students industry-relevant skills and enables them to pursue academic advancement, laying the foundation for global careers in technology.
The program is set to launch specialized courses in Generative AI and Cybersecurity developed in collaboration with leading academic institutions. The initiative is designed to expand access to high-quality tech careers across India.
Tech Bee graduates are already making impressive contributions to advanced areas such as AI and cloud computing, serving HCL’s Fortune 500 clients. Participants receive a stipend early in the training, enabling them to begin supporting their families within a few months of joining the program.
“Tech Bee is more than just a skills development initiative—it’s a platform for ambitious youth to pursue meaningful careers in technology,” said Subbaraman B, Senior Vice President, HCL Tech. “Strategic partnerships with institutions such as BITS Pilani, IIT Guwahati, Shastra University, Amity University Online, IIT Kottayam, and IIM Sirmaur allow trainees to pursue higher education locally, reduce commuting costs, and increase financial independence.”
Tech Bee continues to serve as a key driver of inclusion and attracts a diverse group of participants, including a large number of first-generation learners and women, which is well above industry standards. The programme is closely aligned with the initiatives of the State Government and also supports the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 of India.
