Una, October 3rd - To raise awareness about natural and man-made disaster preparedness, the NDRF team of the 14th Battalion will conduct community exercises at various locations in the district from October 6th to 18th. Providing this information, Jatin Lal, Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority and Deputy Commissioner, Una, stated that the NDRF team will meet with the District Disaster Management officials at 11 a.m. on October 6th at the district headquarters to gather necessary information by visiting bridges, inventory resources, and disaster-prone areas in the district, as well as flood-affected areas.
He further stated that on October 8th, an awareness and capacity-building program will be held for students and staff at the Government Industrial Training Institute, Bhadrakali, under the Gagret subdivision, at 9:30 a.m. On October 9th, information will be collected on vulnerability profiles in landslide-prone areas in Gharwasda, Paroiyan Kalan, and Raipur, under the Bangana subdivision. Additionally, on October 10th, information will be collected about the vulnerable areas and the sensitive profile at the Bharmoti Temple and Handola Bridge.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the NDRF team will collect information related to the vulnerable profile at Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple in the Amb subdivision on October 11th at 10 am. An awareness and capacity building program will be organized for students and staff at Maharana Pratap Government Degree College, Amb, on October 13th at 9 am. Awareness and capacity building programs will also be organized for students and staff at the Government Degree College, Khad, on October 14th at 9 am, and at the Government Industrial Training Institute, Pandoga, on October 15th.
