Hoshiarpur- Vardhman Yarns and Threads Limited, Hoshiarpur is making a significant contribution in the development of villages around Hoshiarpur city under its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) campaign. On 24 September 2025, the company's Managing Director Mr. Sanjeev Narula and Director (Finance and Administration) Mr. Tarun Chawla inaugurated the Rainwater Harvesting System at Krishi Bhawan, Chandigarh Road, Hoshiarpur in the presence of Chief Agriculture Officer Mr. Deepinder Singh and his staff.
On this occasion, Mr. Chawla said that developing such water sources in the city will help in maintaining the ground water level by storing the rain water. Under this project, two rainwater harvesting pits with a catchment area of ??500-700 sq m have been constructed at a cost of Rs. 5.35 lakh. This system helps in absorbing rainwater into the ground and replenishing the groundwater level.
Along with this, under the CSR approach, Shri Sanjeev Narula and Shri Tarun Chawla inaugurated the renovation of two new classrooms and toilets in Government Senior Secondary School, Chagran. The cost of this project is Rs. 37 lakh. On this occasion, Shri Tarun Chawla while addressing the teaching staff said that the company has always taken steps for the welfare of educational institutions in Hoshiarpur and nearby areas.
He said that education, healthcare and environment are the basic needs of today's society and the company will continue to provide facilities in these areas. In addition, as part of its commitment to prepare the youth for international sports, Vardhman Yarns and Threads Limited distributed Judo Kits to Judo players in its premises. During the special ceremony, Shri Sanjeev Narula and Shri Tarun Chawla personally handed over the Judo Kit to Shri Harsimar Singh Kang, a Judo player who is participating in the 3rd Asian Youth Games under the 50 kg Under-18 category for the Indian team from 28th to 30th October 2025 in Bahrain (UAE).
