Deputy commissioner did surprise inspection to prevent child labour

Una, October 16 - Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal conducted a surprise inspection of various Dhabas and Aahats of the district on Wednesday with the aim of preventing child labour in Una district. During this, he, along with a team of departmental officers, conducted a surprise inspection of Dhabas and Aahats in Una, Jalgran, Bahdala, Dehlan and Mehtpur to identify cases of child labour. District Child Protection Officer Kamaldeep, District Labour Officer Ranveer Singh, Kulveer Singh and Vardaan of Child Helpline were present with him.

During the inspection, the age of five teenagers was found to be suspicious. Documents related to these teenagers like Aadhar card and other certificates have been sought so that their correct age can be ascertained. If their age is found to be less than 18 years, notice will be issued to the concerned establishment owners and necessary legal action will be taken under the rules. Also, the children will be rescued immediately and kept safe with their parents or in child care centers.
Strict action will be taken against establishments employing minors
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that child labour is a serious social and legal crime, and strict steps are being taken by the administration to stop it. He appealed to all establishments and business institutions to verify the age of their employees and not to employ minor children under any circumstances. The Deputy Commissioner said that if minors are found working in any establishment, strict action will be taken against that establishment.

Jatin Lal has also appealed to all the citizens of Una district that if they see any case related to child labour anywhere, they should immediately inform the child helpline 1098 or the district administration. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that children's childhood is safe and they get the opportunity to live life with education and freedom. Any kind of exploitation has a deep impact on the future of children, to prevent which collective efforts are necessary.
