Nawanshahr- The Women and Child Development Department is running a 10-day special awareness campaign from September 2 to September 12, 2025 to create awareness among women. Under this campaign, the Women and Child Development Department and the Health Department jointly organized an awareness camp for women at the Primary Health Center of village Sujon.
This awareness camp was led by Senior Medical Officer Charanjit Singh. In which 30 ANMs participated. Senior Medical Officer Charanjit Singh said that getting gender test done is a legal crime and it is wise not to be a part of foeticide. He said that the Health Department also checks the ultrasound center so that no one does gender determination test.
On this occasion, District Coordinator Supriya Thakur from the District Program Office gave detailed information about the PCPNDT Act. She also made people aware about the sex ratio and the schemes running under Mission Shakti. Data entry operator Kajal explained about PMMVY.
