
Eastern Railway defeated South Western Railway to win the All India Railway Cricket Competition
Patiala, April 22 – The 67th Men's All India Railway Cricket Championship for the 2023-24 season was concluded under the patronage of Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW). The Eastern Railway team became the champion team of this competition, in the final they defeated the South Western Railway by 81 runs. Batting first, Eastern Railway posted an impressive score of 247 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 39.5 overs, with Deepanshu and Ravi Singh scoring 76 off 75 balls and 51 off 37 balls respectively.

The Eastern Railway team became the champion team of this competition, in the final they defeated the South Western Railway by 81 runs. Batting first, Eastern Railway posted an impressive score of 247 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 39.5 overs, with Deepanshu and Ravi Singh scoring 76 off 75 balls and 51 off 37 balls respectively. South Western Railway's Ruthvik Naik and Sanjay Kumar took three wickets each. In reply, the South Western Railway team managed to score only 166 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 30.3 overs. Sooraj and Kush scored 71 off 70 balls and 44 off 48 balls respectively for South Western Railway. Eastern Railway won by 81 runs.
During the closing ceremony, Mr. Pramod Kumar, PCAO attended the function as the Chief Guest, along with senior officials of PLW. Trophies and certificates were awarded to the winning team, Eastern Railway, and the runner-up team, South Western Railway, at the PLW Cricket Stadium. Northern Railway secured the third position. Mr. Pramod Kumar thanked all the departments and volunteers for making this competition a success.
