Desh Bhagat University celebrated World Earth Day for environmental awareness

Mandi Gobindgarh, April 22 - Desh Bhagat University in collaboration with Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences celebrated World Earth Day through Placebo Club. Its purpose was to create awareness about the environment. In the guest lecture conducted during the event, students from School of Pharmacy, Sardar Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy and Mata Jarnail Kaur College of Pharmacy participated to discuss the environmental challenges.

Its purpose was to create awareness about the environment. In the guest lecture conducted during the event, students from School of Pharmacy, Sardar Lal Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy and Mata Jarnail Kaur College of Pharmacy participated to discuss the environmental challenges.
  The keynote speaker Executive Director, Agri Heritage Mission Umendra Dutt emphasized the need to address environmental issues and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students in competitions like rangoli making and slogan writing based on the theme "Planet Vs Plastic". The objective of these competitions was to create awareness about important environmental concerns such as climate change, loss of biodiversity, pollution, deforestation and the importance of adopting a sustainable lifestyle.
The program was inaugurated by Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University. Dr. Harsh Sadavarthy, Vice President of the University, shared his views on the challenges facing the environment. Assistant Professors Ms. Keerthi and Ms. Oceana delivered the welcome speech. Vishal and Chandan Swapnil were the program coordinators. University Pro-Chancellor Dr Tajinder Kaur congratulated the Placebo Club, faculty members and students for their dedicated efforts in organizing a successful event in keeping with the spirit of Earth Day. Dr Pooja Gulati emphasized the importance of creating awareness about environmental issues and creating a sense of responsibility towards sustainable living practices among the youth. The program ended with the announcement of the results of the competition by Principal Dr. Shailesh Kumar Gupta and after that Mrs. Khushpal, Principal of MJK College of Pharmacy thanked everyone.
