Hosiarpur - Under the leadership of PCMSA Punjab State President Dr. Akhil Sareen The SMOs, Medical Officers and Paramedics of PCMSA Hoshiarpur reported the latest incident of violence. Due to which Dr. Sunil Bhagat, SMO, ESI Hospital, Hoshiarpur is in critical condition, a gate rally, solidarity march was taken from Civil Surgeon Office Hoshiarpur to the entry gate of Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur.
  After this, a press conference was held at the Civil Surgeon's office In which State President PCMSA Punjab Dr. Akhil Sareen and General Secretary PCMSA Punjab Dr. Vaninder Riad answered various questions of journalists. Apart from Dr. Akhil Sareen and Dr. Vaninder Riad, Dr. Balwinder Damna Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur, Dr. Swati Shimar and Dr. Manmohan Singh SMO Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur, Dr. Manoj SMO ESI Hospital Hoshiarpur, SMO SBS Nagar Dr. Satwinder, Dr. Kartar Singh were present in the press conference. District President, Dr. Munish Kumar, General Secretary, Dr. Sahil, Dr. Sandeep and Dr. Navpreet Kaur, members of PCMSA Hoshiarpur were also thousand.
Addressing the press conference, Dr. Akhil Sareen said that PCMSA Punjab held a detailed discussion with Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh last evening on the current issue of attack on SMO ESI Hospital Hoshiarpur Dr. Sunil Bhagat. He said that an FIR was immediately registered with the relevant sections and the accused was arrested. DMC was immediately transferred to the pilot vehicle. The entire cost of treatment is being borne by the government. Adequate care is being taken regarding the stay of Dr. Sunil's family at Ludhiana.
He also said that the establishment of complaint redressal committee against district level violence under the leadership of civil surgeon and deputy director level officer. In case of any such untoward incident in future, the Institute Head will be responsible for lodging an Institutional FIR.
It was assured that all DHs would get security through police posts and outsourced staff, and outsourced staff by SDH/CHC. This will ensure safe and secure handling of all PHIs. It was emphasized that as per the code of ethics, no videography would be allowed in the hospital premises. 600 plus MO (regular) and 1200 plus para-medical posts will be filled by July-August. In view of the appropriate steps taken by the Government on this issue and the firm assurance given to the PCMSA, the earlier program regarding strike at all PHIs on 22/04/2024 has been changed to Unity March/Gate March. On 22/04/2024 from 8 am to 10 am gate rally and at 11 am state level press conference was held by PCMSA at Hoshiarpur.
