Washington, June 6 - A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked President Donald Trump's announcement that banned foreign students from entering the US to attend Harvard University. It is worth noting that the 'Ivy League' is a group of eight famous private educational institutions in the US, including Harvard University.
Trump had declared in an executive order issued on Wednesday that allowing Harvard to admit foreign students to its campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts would be a threat to national security.
Harvard had filed a legal challenge seeking to block Trump's order. It alleged that Harvard had illegally retaliated for rejecting the White House's demands.
In an amended lawsuit filed Thursday, Harvard said the president was trying to get around previous court orders.
