Patiala, March 15 - The Rajpura Police Special Cell team has claimed to have arrested three gangsters who were planning to attack the associates of gangster Goldie Brar. At the behest of Gurwinder Singh Sidhu, who runs a gangster group in Punjab, they had planned to attack Brar's associates, but they were arrested by the Rajpura police before the attack. They have been identified as Shamsher Singh alias Shera, his accomplice Rohit Kumar alias Rohit and Gulshan Kumar alias Gullu Rajpura of village Sarai Amanat Khan in Tarn Taran.
SSP Patiala Varun Sharma said during the media conference that these three have been arrested by Inspector Harry Boparai in charge of Special Cell and his team from Rajpura area. Three illegal pistols of 32 bore and 8 cartridges have been recovered from these persons. The SSP said that the Rajpura Special Cell team saw a black icon vehicle near the underpass of village Uksi Sainiya and it had a fake number plate on it. On the basis of suspicion, the police party arrested the three occupants of the car. Varun Sharma said that Gurvinder Singh Sidhu had provided them with weapons so that they could attack the associates of Goldie Dhillon and Goldie Brar. Gangster Goldie Dhillon also lives abroad and runs his gang in Punjab from there. Goldie Dhillon and Goldie Brar are close friends and recently Goldie Dhillon was shot in Sector 5, Chandigarh. In this way, the rivalry between Sidhu and the Goldie gang has been going on for a long time. On the instructions of gangster Gurwinder Singh Sidhu, the accused Rohit shot at a businessman of Rajpura in June 2023, against whom a case was also registered.
