Pratishtha Jain from Akashwani, Jalandhar wins UNICEF Radio for Child Award-2024

Pratishtha Jain, Broadcasting Executive Officer from Akashwani Jalandhar has been honored for the best radio spot in the Radio for Child program organized by UNICEF. The award was given away by Ayushmann Khurrana, National Ambassador of UNICEF and eminent film actor, at a special function held in Mumbai recently. Radio participants from various states of India applied for this award with their own entries. Akashwani, Jalandhar has always been serving the public interest through its programs.

Pratishtha Jain says that this victory belongs to all members of Akashwani Jalandhar and this award shows the importance of Akashwani Jalandhar's efforts. Akashvani has the highest reach and influence in public service broadcasting. The 5th edition of the UNICEF India Radio for Child Awards honored 22 radio professionals from across the country for their outstanding work in raising awareness on issues like routine immunization, climate change, child safety. Under this year's award, innovative radio program entries were invited, in the form of radio links, spots, jingles and public service announcements.
Pratistha Jain has been honored for her title “Departing from Plastic – Essential for Earth” in “Single Use Plastics” under the theme of Climate Change.
Pratishtha Jain credits this to her program head Paramjit Singh, program officer Sohan Kumar, and team Poonam Rani, Birender Singh, Pankaj and Avtar Singh Dhillon.
