Patiala, December 26- Under the guidelines of the Health and Family Welfare Department and under the leadership of the Director Health and Family Welfare; the District Health Department Patiala is running a pentavalent vaccine awareness campaign from December 23 to 31 to ensure complete vaccination in all the blocks of the district.

This information was given by Civil Surgeon Patiala Dr. Jatinder Kansal. The Civil Surgeon said that during this special vaccination campaign, special attention will be focused on pentavalent vaccination of all the drop out and left out children of the district. He said that all vaccines are mandatory for the healthy life and overall development of a child. Therefore, it is necessary to vaccinate your child regularly with pentavalent vaccine.

He appealed to the residents of Patiala district to get the remaining vaccines of their children administered at the nearest health center as soon as possible. Dr. Kushaldeep Gill, District Immunization Officer, said that the pentavalent vaccine alone protects against five deadly diseases: diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, hepatitis, and encephalitis.
