SAS Nagar, December 22 - Constituency MLA SAS Nagar S. Kulwant Singh today distributed baby kits to 23 new-born girls under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme by Social Security Women and Child Development Department.

Speaking on the occasion, the constituency MLA said that in today's era, girls are not less than boys in any respect and are making strides in every field. He said that the main objective of this scheme is to eradicate gender discrimination and to encourage parents to give facilities to their daughters to learn and write on par with sons so that they also have the same rights as boys and brighten the name of their country by reading and writing.

On this occasion District Program Officer Gagandeep Singh, Gursimran Kaur, CDPO Kharar, Kuldeep Singh Samana, former Councilor Harpal Singh Channa, RP Sharma and Surinder Singh Roda, Avtar Singh Mauli, Arun Goyal, Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Satinder Kaur, Akwinder Singh Apart from Gosal, Taranjit Singh, Baljit Singh Happy, other dignitaries of the city were present.
