District Legal Services Authority gave information to women regarding legal rights

Patiala, December 4 - As per the guidelines of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority and under the supervision of the District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority Rupinderjit Chahal, the District Legal Services Authority of Panchayat Department and School Administration. A legal awareness program for women 'Vidhan Se Samadhan' was organized at Government Senior Secondary School, Bahadurgarh, Patiala with support. Anganwadi workers, sarpanches, panches and school staff participated in this programme.
During the program, panel advocate Ravinder Kaur Jassad raised awareness about "equal pay for equal work" for women under the Constitution of India, Factories Act, 1948 and human trafficking and free legal aid. Apart from this, Roma Rani, Panel Advocate has also been charged with crimes against women such as acid attack, rape, kidnapping, any form of sexual harassment under the Indian Penal Code, Domestic Violence Act, POCSO Act, various government schemes related to women and dowry Along with laws related to harassment, the role and functions of National Commission for Women and NALSA were also made aware.
Apart from this, an open discussion and question-answer session was also conducted regarding the legal rights and laws of women. Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Mani Arora addressed the gathering and answered questions raised by the audience. On this occasion, the audience was also made aware about free legal services, mediation and conciliation centre, benefits of Lok Adalat and the upcoming National Lok Adalat to be held on December 9.
