Patiala, November 13: Now the possibility of more cleaning of major roads in the city has increased, the contract has been awarded to a private company. The work has been handed over to a private company which will soon start cleaning a total of 224 km of roads. Major roads will be cleaned every four days, 64 km of roads will be cleaned every day. The cleaning contract has been awarded to Continental Engineers Private Limited. The corporation itself has purchased a sweeping machine worth more than 2 crore 69 lakh rupees, but it has been learned that the commissioner of the corporation was not in favor of running the machine by the corporation, that is why the contract was given to a private company after holding a tender. Axion JP Singh, who played a major role in implementing this project, says that Corporation Commissioner Aditya Uppal is very serious about the cleanliness of the city. 6 crore 72 lakh will be spent on this project in 5 years. It is learned that a project report on air pollution was sent to the tribunal on the directives of the National Green Tribunal. On the basis of this report, money was given to the corporation to buy a sweeping machine.
