
Complete ban on display of weapons issued
Patiala, November 9 -Additional District Magistrate Patiala Anupreeta Johal, using the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974), has ordered a public display of arms has been completely banned while maintaining the law and order situation in Patiala district and this ban will also be applicable on social media.
Patiala, November 9 -Additional District Magistrate Patiala Anupreeta Johal, using the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974), has ordered a public display of arms has been completely banned while maintaining the law and order situation in Patiala district and this ban will also be applicable on social media. Apart from this, there is a complete ban on songs glorifying weapons or violence at weddings/events and other functions. There will also be a complete ban on carrying and displaying weapons in public gatherings, places of worship, wedding parties or other events and ban on giving hate speech against any community. The order will remain in force till January 8, 2024.
The Additional District Magistrate said that if anyone found violating these general and specific orders within the district, appropriate legal action would be taken against him immediately.
