Garhshankar 03 November - Like every year, this year also Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Sports Club Garhshankar 14th Annual Football Tournament dedicated to the heartfelt memory of Late Dilpit Singh Dhillon, in the grounds of Unlipan Sardar Jarnail Singh Stadium Senior Secondary School, Garhshankar from 17th to 21st November. The event is being organized till November.
Giving information about this tournament, club president Jasvir Singh Roy said that during the football tournament, matches of village level and school level football teams will be organized. The first place team will be given a prize of Rs 31,000 and the second place team will be given a prize of Rs 25,000. Like every year, during the tournament, Inter-State Athletic Meet competition will also be organized on the last day on 21st November.
In which long jump, shot put and tug of war competitions will also be organised. While talking, he said that during this tournament, politicians, social workers, NRIs and sports lovers will participate and make the players aware about the sport. In the end, club president Jasveer Singh Rai appealed to the youth of the area and extended an open invitation to participate in the tournament.
