
Modi College Patiala Honored by Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for Ban on Plastic Use
Patiala, November 2 - The local Multani Mall Modi College, Patiala, was honored with a certificate of recognition for completely banning single-use plastics under the guidelines of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of the Government of India.
Patiala, November 2 - The local Multani Mall Modi College, Patiala, was honored with a certificate of recognition for completely banning single-use plastics under the guidelines of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of the Government of India. This certificate has been received from the authorities of Patiala Municipal Corporation for designing, planning and implementing various initiatives to make the college environmentally clean and green.
Principal Dr. Khushwinder Kumar, while receiving the certificate, said that Modi College is committed to the objectives and guidelines of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of the government. He said that the local administration has started various initiatives like creating rain water harvesting system, recycling waste and banning single use plastic to maintain a healthy environment in the campus and surrounding areas.
On this occasion Mr. Amandeep Sekhon, IEC and CB Expert, Municipal Corporation Patiala appreciated the efforts made by the college to provide clean environment to the students and staff.
In this regard, Sanitation Nodal Officer Dr. Manish Sharma said that the college is spreading social awareness about single use and other harmful effects of plastic through various activities and community programs.
