A senior BSF official said that acting on concrete information, a joint team of BSF and ANTF, Amritsar, has arrested a person from Jhabal area of ??Tarn Taran. 1 packet of heroin (total weight- 504 grams), a mobile phone and a bike have been recovered from him. The arrested person is a resident of village Maluwal. He has been handed over to ANTF for further investigation and interrogation.
The official said that on a specific tip-off from the BSF Intelligence Wing last evening, a joint team of BSF and ANTF, Amritsar, took action and arrested four suspects on charges of smuggling from a market at Sur Singh in Tarn Taran.
During the search, 9 packets of heroin (total weight- 5.032 kg), two pistols, one Scorpio car, 4 mobile phones, two bikes and 1000 Indian currency were recovered from their possession. These persons are residents of villages Goindwal and Sohal. They have been sent to the custody of ANTF for further investigation.
The official said that during the night, vigilant BSF personnel intercepted the movement of a drone and launched a search operation. As a result, 1 DJI AIR 3 drone, pistol parts and 1 packet containing a magazine were recovered from a field adjacent to village Raniya in Amritsar.
Similarly, on a specific tip-off, BSF personnel recovered pistol parts from a field near village Wan in Tarn Taran during a search operation yesterday evening. The BSF official said that these arrests and recovery of arms and narcotics reflect the dedication and continuous efforts of BSF to secure the border and stop Pakistan-sponsored narco-terrorism smuggling.
