Farmers who are setting fire to stubble and crop residues may face problems in passport renewal and visa, but now if a farmer does this, his firearms license may be canceled or suspended. The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Patiala, Anupreeta Johal, issued an order, the ADC has suspended the license of the firearm of Harvinder Singh son of Mahal Singh, a resident of Talwandi Malik village of Samana Tehsil. It has been said in the order that in violation of government orders, Harvinder Singh set fire to the remaining stubble leftovers in his fields. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni is also continuously appealing not to set fire to stubble and leftovers and also advising to use the machinery provided by the government for stubble management.
