SAS Nagar, October 9 - A packed meeting of the Kamboj community was held at Shaheed Udham Singh Bhavan Mohali, condemning the filing of a writ petition by some individuals in the Hon'ble High Court to remove the Kamboj caste from the BC list of the Punjab government. It was decided that the Kamboj community will pursue this petition in the honorable court.
On this occasion, Bobby Kamboj, president of the International Sarv Kamboj Society, said that the conspiracy to remove the Kamboj caste from the BC list of the Punjab government will not be allowed to succeed. He said that it should be everyone's duty to maintain unity in the community at this difficult time.
Harmeet Kamboj Pamma, state president of the society, said that the Kamboj caste was included in the BC caste list (for 5 years) in 1957 and was permanently included in 1979. He said that since 1995, these people have been submitting applications to the BC Commission for the withdrawal of the Kamboj caste. He said that these persons have filed a petition in the honorable court by making various false reports under the guise of a high-ranking officer.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Ram Kishan Dhunkia, Mr. Joginder Pal Bhata, Mr. Digvijay Dhanju, Professor Gurmail Singh spoke about the unity of the community and asked to form a committee on this issue and meet the Chief Minister. The speakers said that a demand letter should be given to all 117 MLAs of Punjab in this regard. The speakers said that the community needs to come together and face this problem.
On this occasion, Advocate Ashok Sama gave detailed information about the writ petition. Advocates PP Singh, Ashok Sama, Gurjit Singh Kaura, OP Kamboj, Bilawal Handa, present on this occasion assured to fight and win the free case. Retired Sessions Judge PP Singh said that the memorandum to be given to the Chief Minister has been prepared. He said that MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldi has been asked to take time from the Chief Minister and as soon as the time is available, the Chief Minister will be informed about the whole situation and pressured to file a counterclaim for keeping the Kamboj caste in the BC list. will be made
