Karnal, September 23: Indri MLA and Government Chief Whip Ram Kumar Kashyap and Municipal Corporation Mayor Renu Bala Gupta jointly inaugurated the strengthening of internal streets and stormwater drainage work in Mangalpur, Municipal Corporation Ward 2, on Tuesday.

The project will cost ?54.73 lakh and is expected to be completed within three months. Ward Councilor Baby Pal, Municipal Corporation engineer, and dignitaries were present on the occasion. MLA Ram Kumar Kashyap stated that the construction of these streets will facilitate the movement of Mangalpur residents and ensure adequate drainage of rainwater. These works will provide convenience to the residents. He stated that citizens will not be deprived of basic amenities. Such construction projects demonstrate the government's commitment to providing better infrastructure for local residents. Development work will continue uninterrupted in urban and rural areas.
He stated that a Seva Pakhwada (service fortnight) is being celebrated across the state to commemorate the Prime Minister's birth anniversary. Various initiatives, including cleanliness drives, blood donation camps, tree planting, and road strengthening, are being undertaken. He added that the state government is continuously working for the overall development and empowerment of women. Under this initiative, women's cultural centers have been opened, enabling women to hone their talents and skills, and increasing their social participation. He added that the Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana (Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana) will be launched in the state on September 25th, the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. Under the scheme, in the first phase, women from families with annual incomes of less than ?1 lakh will be provided monthly financial assistance of ?2,100. He also noted that the central government has reduced the GST slabs to two, which has begun to benefit the entire nation. On this occasion, Municipal Corporation Mayor Renu Bala Gupta stated that the roads and streets are an important step towards the development of the area. Strengthening these streets will ease traffic in the Mangalpur area and improve the lives of local residents. She added that to ensure transparency in all work, a board is displayed at the project site, documenting the details of the work. She appealed to citizens to monitor the street work to ensure it is completed efficiently. If they notice any defects, they can report them to municipal engineers and councilors so they can be rectified promptly. She stated that development work is underway in the municipal corporation area, providing residents of both urban and rural areas with basic amenities and the benefits of major projects. She added that the Seva Pakhwada is being celebrated on the Prime Minister's birthday to encourage city residents to engage in social responsibility along with development. Under this initiative, daily cleanliness drives, public awareness campaigns, blood donation camps, and road strengthening are being carried out. He informed that Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana is also going to be launched from 25th September.
On this occasion, Ward No. 2 councilor representative Naresh Pal, Kunjpura Mandal President Anil Chauhan, former District General Secretary Sunil Goyal, Sanjeev Kumar, Roshan Pal, Mukesh Kashyap, Sudir Pal, Bal Singh Pradhan and dignitaries and Municipal Corporation's Executive Engineer Pradeep Kalyan, Assistant Engineer Prem Singh and Junior Engineer Sohan Singh were present.
