
Lecturers welcome cabinet decision to increase promotion quota.

In this regard, lecturers Bhupinder Singh Samra, Sukhbir Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Deepak Kumar Sharma, Arun Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Jatinder Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Satinderjit Kaur, Maninder Kaur, Gurmeet Singh, Surjit Singh, Harmeet Singh, Mukhtiar Singh, Juginder Lal, Archana Joshi and others said that in 2018, the then government had reduced the promotion quota of lecturers from 75 percent to 50 percent.
Due to which lecturers were not being promoted as principals for a long time and about 900 schools were without principals. This was also affecting the education of the students. On the other hand, lecturers had been demanding for a long time that the Education Service Rules 2018 be amended and the previous situation be restored so that the lecturers who were waiting for their promotions for a long time could get justice.
He said that in the cabinet meeting, the government accepted this demand and again increased the promotion quota from 50 percent to 75 percent. He said that at this time, at least those lecturers and teachers who are retiring this month and are far ahead in seniority should be appointed immediately.
