*Mid-day meal workers hold protest rally for their demands*

Garshankar, January 19- Active workers of Mid-day Meal Workers Union Garshankar working in various schools held a protest rally at Gandhi Park located at Banga Chowk. Which was led by Mid-day Meal Workers Union leaders Balwinder Kaur, Kamaljit Kaur, Manjit Kaur and DMF leaders Hans Raj Garhshankar and Satpal Kaler.

Garshankar, January 19- Active workers of Mid-day Meal Workers Union Garshankar working in various schools held a protest rally at Gandhi Park located at Banga Chowk. Which was led by Mid-day Meal Workers Union leaders Balwinder Kaur, Kamaljit Kaur, Manjit Kaur and DMF leaders Hans Raj Garhshankar and Satpal Kaler.
Addressing the protest rally, various leaders Manjit Kaur, Krishna Devi, Raj Rani and Satya Devi said that before the assembly elections, the leaders of the then main opposition Aam Aadmi Party had made promises to various sections regarding their demands. Similarly, the then Aam Aadmi Party leaders and Bhagwant Mann had also promised the mid-day meal workers that the honorarium they get will be increased from 3000 to 6000 as soon as the government is formed. But despite the passage of three years, the government has not taken any action.
What was the honorarium to be increased, but every month new letters are being issued to increase the work of the mid-day meal workers and orders are being given to prepare new types of food. The leaders demanded that it is very difficult to live on 3000 rupees in this inflationary era and the honorarium should be increased to 18000 rupees by implementing the minimum wage law on the mid-day meal workers. Two types of allowances should be given in two seasons in a year, each worker should be insured for twenty lakhs.
At this time, various leaders Raj Rani Sanita Kumari, Manjit Kaur, Inderjit Kaur Renu Rani, Nirmal Kaur, Sarabjit Kaur, Neelam Kaur, Kuldeep Kaur and DMF leader Mukesh Kumar, DPF leader Amarjit Bangar; Mandeep Kumar and DTF State Publicity Secretary Sukhdev Dancewal also addressed. The leaders of the Mid-Day Meal Workers Union warned the government that if the government does not accept their demands soon, the organization will be forced to struggle at the Punjab level.
